Overview

This policy explains how Selkoraha processes personal data. The calculators run in your browser and we do not store the figures you enter. Personal data is processed in two situations only: when you contact us through the form, and when you consent to analytics.

Data controller

The data controller is Palvemax OY (business ID 3479337-9), Saturnuksenkatu 2 B 18, 11130 Riihimäki, Finland. For data protection matters, write to info@palvemax.fi. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as no large-scale or special-category processing takes place.

What data we process

The numbers you enter into the calculators are processed only in your browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers. The share link stores your choices only in the URL, and only if you copy the link yourself.

Contact form

When you send a message through the form we process your name, email address, subject, chosen topic and the content of your message. The purpose is to answer your enquiry and the legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely communicating with people who contact us. The data is not used for marketing without separate consent. Messages are kept for at most 12 months after the reply, unless handling the matter requires longer. Please do not send your personal identity code, banking credentials or health data through the form.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies that the site needs to work — for example to remember your cookie choice and your language. These do not require consent. Analytics cookies are set only if you consent. No advertising cookies are used at all.

Cookies we use

Necessary: selkoraha-consent (your consent choice, stored in the browser) and your language selection. Analytics, only with consent: Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* (retained up to 2 years, event data retention 14 months). No advertising cookies are used.

Analytics and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which calculators and articles are useful to visitors. Measurement starts only after you consent in the cookie banner — without consent no request is sent to Google. The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your IP address is anonymised, the data is not used for advertising and is not linked to you as an individual. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which denies all analytics and advertising storage by default. The service provider is Google Ireland Limited, and data may be transferred outside the EU under Google’s standard contractual clauses.

Withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the «Cookie settings» link in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. You can also block Google Analytics with a browser add-on or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Affiliate links

The site may contain affiliate links (e.g. Revolut, Wise). If you go to a service through them, that service may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Hosting

The site runs on Vercel, which processes technical server logs such as your IP address, browser information and request time. Logs are used to deliver the site, for security and to prevent abuse. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Service providers and data transfers

We use the following providers as data processors: Vercel Inc. (technical hosting and server logs, United States), Google Ireland Limited (analytics with consent, Ireland) and Resend (email delivery for the contact form, United States). Some providers are located outside the EU and EEA; transfers rely on the European Commission standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards, and a data processing agreement is in place with each. We do not sell or disclose data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, rectify inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and port the data you have provided. Consent-based processing can be withdrawn at any time. Requests can be made by email and we respond within one month. If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: in Finland this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
