Immigration and Migri calculators 2026

Immigration calculators help you estimate the conditions for Finnish residence permits and citizenship in 2026: the family-reunification income requirement, the citizenship residence period, the residence-permit path, Migri fees and work-based permits.

The figures are based on the Finnish Immigration Service (migri.fi). The calculators give an indicative estimate — the decision is always made by Migri.

€3,937/mo

Which immigration conditions can I calculate?

You can check the family-reunification income threshold (net income by family size and municipality), the residence period required for citizenship (usually 8 years from 1 October 2024), residence-permit types and fees, and the salary thresholds for a work permit.

Each calculator has its own source list, and the figures are verified against Migri’s current guidance.

How long does citizenship take?

The general residence requirement for citizenship has been eight years since 1 October 2024. It shortens to five years if you show sufficient Finnish or Swedish language skills or are married to a Finnish citizen. For Nordic citizens the requirement is two years.

The residence period counts continuous or accumulated residence on a valid permit. The citizenship calculator gives your earliest application date from the details you enter; sufficient income and a clean record are also required.

Income and salary thresholds

The income required for family reunification depends on the family size and the region of residence. An adult with one child in the capital region, for example, needs about 1,820 euros net a month. The income calculator works out your own threshold by family composition.

Work-based permits have their own salary thresholds: an employed person permit requires at least 1,600 euros gross a month and a specialist permit 3,937 euros a month. The Migri fee calculator shows the processing fees for different permit types.
