Electronic or paper — and the total for a family
Applying electronically is almost always cheaper and often faster. Each family member needs their own application and pays their own fee. For example, for a family of two adults and two children the first residence permits cost about €2,300 online in total (adults 2 × €750 + children 2 × €400).
Is the fee refunded on a negative decision?
No. The processing fee is charged for handling the application, not for a positive decision, so it is not refunded on a negative one. If you apply for the same permit again, the fee may become payable again. Check the current amounts on the Migri site before paying.
