Migri processing fees 2026 — how much does an application cost?
Applications to the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) are subject to a fee that must be paid before processing. It is not refunded even if the decision is negative. An electronic application via Enter Finland is usually cheaper than a paper one: an extended permit, for example, costs €230 electronically and €430 on paper.
The fees changed on 1 January 2026 by a Ministry of the Interior decree and are not subject to VAT. Choose the application type, submission method and number of applicants — the calculator shows the fee per application and the total for a family.

For example, in 2026 a citizenship application costs €550 electronically (€650 on paper), a first work permit €750 (€950), a student permit €600 (€750), an extended permit €230 (€430) and a permanent residence permit €380 (€600). Migri fees 2026 (electronic / paper)
The most common fees in 2026: a first residence permit €750 / €800 (electronic/paper), an employed person’s permit (TTOL) €750 / €950, a specialist permit €530 / €630, a student permit €600 / €750, an extended permit €230 / €430, and a permanent permit and long-term EU permit (P-EU) €380 / €600. A minor’s first permit is cheaper, €400 / €430.
A citizenship application costs €550 electronically and €650 on paper for an adult; a citizenship declaration €260 / €280. Renewing a residence permit card costs €60 / €105 and replacing a lost card €140. Registering an EU citizen’s right of residence is €53, and a long-stay visa (D visa) is €95 / €120.
Applying electronically is almost always cheaper and often faster. Each family member needs their own application and pays their own fee, so first residence permits for a family of two adults and two children cost about €2,300 electronically in total (adults 2 × €750 + children 2 × €400). You may have to pay the fee again if you reapply for the same permit after a negative decision.
